Why Use SaveIGReel to Export Comments?

For creators, marketers and researchers who need Instagram comments in a spreadsheet.

CSV, Excel & JSON

Download a real .xlsx file, a CSV that opens correctly in Excel, or JSON for your own tools. Or copy the table straight into Google Sheets.

Filter Before You Download

Keep only comments with a keyword, a minimum number of likes or an @mention, and keep one comment per person. Handy for giveaways and research.

Every Language and Emoji

Hindi, Arabic, Indonesian, Portuguese and emoji comments export cleanly, with no garbled characters in Excel.

No Login, No Extension

Nothing to install and no Instagram account needed. Public posts only; private accounts are never accessed.

Runs in the Background

Large posts are collected by our servers while you watch the progress. Your browser builds the file once the export is done.

Works on Any Device

Use it on iPhone, Android, Windows or Mac. Downloads open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Export Instagram Comments to CSV or Excel — What to Expect

Comments are where an audience tells you what it thinks, and Instagram gives you no way to take them out of the app. The SaveIGReel Instagram Comment Exporter collects the public comments of a post or reel and turns them into a spreadsheet you can sort, search and share.

What you can do with an export

Creators use it to find the questions their audience keeps asking and to shortlist giveaway entries. Brands use it to read feedback on a campaign post in one place. Researchers use it to study how people respond to a topic. Because the file includes likes and dates, you can also see which comments resonated most.

The limit you should know about

Each export holds up to 500 top-level comments, with a daily allowance of 1,500. Beyond our limit, Instagram itself does not show a logged-out visitor every comment on a large post: in our own tests, a post with more than 20,000 comments stopped returning results after roughly 2,000. The exporter tells you plainly when a file is shorter than the post, so a partial file never looks like a complete one. Replies are not included either; each comment shows how many replies it has on Instagram.

Running a giveaway?

If you want a winner rather than a spreadsheet, the Instagram Giveaway Picker loads the same public comments, applies your entry rules and draws winners and backups, with a record you can post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about exporting Instagram comments.

Up to 500 top-level comments per export, and 1,500 per day. Instagram itself only shows logged-out visitors part of a post's comments: in our tests on posts with over 20,000 comments it stopped after roughly 1,800 to 2,200. Posts with fewer comments than the limit are exported in full, and the result always tells you when it stopped early and why.

Every ten comments cost us a request to Instagram, so the service is kept free by limiting how much one visitor can pull each day. Exporting a post that someone else exported in the last two hours does not use your allowance, because we reuse that result.

No. The export contains top-level comments only, with a column showing how many replies each one has on Instagram. The replies themselves are not available to logged-out visitors.

Instagram returns comments in its own ranking, not by date. The file keeps that order by default. Use the Sort option to order by newest, oldest or most liked before you download.

No. SaveIGReel never asks for your Instagram username, password or email. The exporter reads the same public comments any visitor can see.

No. Only comments on posts and reels from public accounts can be exported.

Instagram hands out only about 10 comments per request, so 500 comments need around 50 requests, which takes a minute or two. The export runs on our servers and shows live progress. Keep the tab open until it finishes; leaving the page cancels the export.

Comment ID, username, full name, verified status, comment text, likes, reply count, date (UTC and Unix time), @mentions, #hashtags and a link to the commenter's profile. Profile pictures are not included.

Yes. Use our Instagram Giveaway Picker, which loads the comments of your post, applies your rules (one entry per person, tagged friends, excluded accounts) and draws winners with a record anyone can verify. Keep in mind that for very large posts Instagram does not show every comment, so the entries may not include everyone who commented.

Yes. It is free to use on every device, with no sign-up.

The file contains public usernames and comment text. Use it for your own analysis, moderation or giveaways, respect the people who wrote the comments, and follow the privacy laws that apply to you. Do not use it to harass users or send unsolicited messages.
