Instagram Giveaway Picker

Pick a random winner from any Instagram post's comments. Set your rules, draw, and keep a record anyone can verify. Free, no login.

Public posts only. Entries come from the comments Instagram shows to logged-out visitors, up to 500 (~1.5 min for a busy post).

How to Pick a Winner From Instagram Comments

Three steps, no account and nothing to install.

1

Paste Your Giveaway Post

Copy the link of the post or reel the giveaway is running on and paste it above.

2

Load Entries and Set Rules

We load the public comments. Choose how many winners, whether friends must be tagged and which accounts are excluded.

3

Draw and Keep the Record

Pick the winners, then copy the draw record to post with your announcement.

A Giveaway Picker You Can Show Your Followers

Pick winners fairly, and keep a record that proves how you did it.

Random and Reproducible

Every eligible entry has the same chance. The draw uses a seed you can publish, so anyone with the same comments and rules gets the same winners.

Your Giveaway Rules

Require friends to be tagged, a word or hashtag in the comment, and one entry per person. The picker counts only comments that follow your rules.

Several Winners and Backups

Draw up to 10 winners plus up to 5 backup winners in order, in case someone does not reply.

Exclude Accounts

Keep your own account, partners, staff and obvious bots out of the draw with an exclude list.

Draw Record and CSV

Copy a plain-text record with the time, rules, entry count and seed, or download the winners as a CSV.

No Login, Works Anywhere

Nothing to install and no Instagram account to connect. Use it on iPhone, Android, Windows or Mac.

How to Run a Fair Instagram Giveaway

A giveaway works when followers believe the winner was chosen fairly. Most complaints come from unclear rules, not from the draw itself. The Instagram Giveaway Picker takes care of the draw, and a few habits take care of the rest. For a comparison of picking by hand, in a spreadsheet and with a picker, read how to pick a random winner from Instagram comments.

Write the rules before you post

Say exactly how to enter (for example: comment and tag two friends), when the giveaway closes, how many winners there will be and how they will be contacted. Whatever you ask for in the post is what you set in the picker, so the rules people read and the rules the draw applies are the same.

Decide how repeat comments count

If commenting ten times should not beat commenting once, keep one entry per person. If you want every comment to count, say so in the post and switch that option off. Either is fine as long as it is stated up front.

Exclude your own account and partners

Replies from your own account, your team and any partner brands are not entries. Add them to the exclude list so the draw never lands on them.

Draw once, then publish the record

Copy the draw record and post it with your announcement. It lists the time, the rules, the number of eligible entries, the winners and the seed. Anyone can run the same comments, rules and seed through the picker and confirm the same result. Choose backup winners at the same time, so a winner who does not reply does not force you to draw again.

Know what the picker can and cannot see

The picker loads the public comments Instagram shows to a visitor who is not logged in. On a large post that is only part of the comments (in our tests, roughly 2,000 out of more than 20,000), and one run loads up to 500. Replies are not entries, and the list of people who liked a post is not available. If your post has more comments than were loaded, the picker says so, and you should tell your followers how entries were collected.

Follow Instagram's rules and your local law

Instagram publishes promotion guidelines, and prize draws are regulated differently from country to country. Check both before you launch. This tool is not legal advice, and SaveIGReel is not affiliated with Instagram.

How the draw works

  1. The comments are filtered by your rules (excluded accounts, tagged friends, keywords).
  2. With one entry per person on, only each person's first comment is kept.
  3. The remaining entries are sorted by comment ID, which fixes their order.
  4. A random seed is created in your browser. It is shown with the result.
  5. A partial Fisher-Yates shuffle driven by the seed moves the winners, then the backups, to the front.

Nothing is sent to our servers during the draw. It runs in your browser from the comments that were loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about picking giveaway winners from Instagram comments.

Paste the link of your giveaway post into the picker and press Load Entries. When the comments have loaded, set your rules (how many winners, whether friends must be tagged, which accounts to exclude) and press Pick a winner. The result shows the winners, backup winners and a draw record you can copy.

Yes. Each eligible entry has the same chance of winning. The picker creates a random seed with your browser's cryptographic random generator, puts the eligible comments in a fixed order and shuffles them with a generator driven by that seed. Because the seed is shown, anyone with the same comments, rules and seed can reproduce the draw.

Up to 500 top-level comments per post in one go, and 1,500 per day per visitor. Instagram itself only shows part of the comments on a large post to logged-out visitors, and the picker tells you when the entries it loaded are fewer than the number the post reports.

Every commenter among the loaded entries does. On a post with more comments than Instagram shows publicly, people outside that set cannot be included. The picker warns you in that case, so you can state in your giveaway rules how entries were collected.

Yes. Choose between 1 and 5 friends. The picker counts the different accounts @mentioned in each comment, not counting the commenter's own name, and only comments that reach the number you chose are entered in the draw.

Leave One entry per person switched on, which is the default. Only the first comment of each person counts, so commenting five times does not make anyone five times as likely to win.

Yes. Type the usernames into the exclude list, separated by commas or new lines. Excluded accounts are removed from the entries before the draw.

Backup winners are the next names drawn after the winners, in order. If a winner does not reply within your deadline, contact the first backup winner.

No. Instagram does not show the list of likes to logged-out visitors, so only comments can be used. Ask people to comment to enter, then pick from the comments.

Yes. Any public post, reel or carousel link works. Private accounts cannot be used.

No. SaveIGReel never asks for your Instagram username or password. The picker reads the same public comments any visitor can see.
